The Brand Directory is where you manage the information Luna uses to understand your business. By providing brand context, writing guidelines, and visual references, you help Luna create content that's accurate, consistent, and aligned with your company.

The Brand Directory contains:

  • Context documents (default and custom)
  • Brand references

Context documents

Context documents are markdown documents that provide Luna with additional knowledge about your business. Luna loads these documents when they're relevant to the task she's performing, giving her the context needed to write more accurate, on-brand content.

Context documents are key to guiding any AI on your preferences. These context documents can contain almost anything your team wants Luna to know, including:

  • Product information
  • Services
  • Pricing
  • Brand messaging
  • Sales processes
  • Customer personas
  • Industry terminology
  • Policies and compliance requirements
  • Internal documentation

Keeping context documents concise, factual and regularly updated helps Luna produce better recommendations and content.

LunaLift default context documents

Every company starts with two default context documents:

  • Vision & Goals
  • Brand Guide

These documents can't be deleted but are optional. Use these documents to provide Luna with the core information she needs to understand your business.

Vision & Goals

The Vision & Goals document gives Luna strategic context about your company.

Unlike product documentation or knowledge articles, this document explains where your business is heading and what success looks like, allowing Luna to prioritise content that supports your objectives.

The template includes sections for:

  • Audience – your primary customer segments and personas.
  • Priorities – the business outcomes you're trying to achieve.
  • Compliance & approval – content restrictions, approval processes and regulatory requirements.
  • 12-month vision – where the company wants to be over the next year.

This document should focus on long-term strategy rather than detailed product information.

Brand Guide

The Brand Guide defines how Luna should communicate on behalf of your business.

Use it to document your writing style, brand voice, terminology, messaging, formatting preferences and words or phrases to avoid.

A well-maintained Brand Guide helps ensure content remains consistent regardless of the topic or format being generated.

Typical information includes:

  • Brand voice and tone
  • Preferred spelling and terminology
  • Messaging pillars
  • Formatting preferences
  • Calls to action
  • Words to use or avoid
  • Style and grammar rules

Add a new context document

You can create as many additional context documents as your business needs.

Select New context document, give the document a descriptive title, then add the content using Markdown.

Common examples include:

  • Product catalogue
  • Pricing information
  • Competitor positioning
  • Sales playbooks
  • Customer FAQs
  • Technical documentation
  • Compliance policies
  • Service descriptions

Luna automatically loads relevant documents when performing tasks, so documents should be organised around a single topic whenever possible.

Editing context documents

Each context document can be viewed in either Edit or Preview mode.

  • Edit allows you to write or modify the Markdown.
  • Preview renders the document so you can review formatting before saving.

Once saved, Luna immediately uses the updated document whenever it's relevant to future tasks.

Brand references

Brand references are images that define your company's visual identity.

When Luna generates images, she automatically uses these reference images to better match your brand's style, colours, products and overall aesthetic.

You can upload several reference images, such as:

  • Product photography
  • Marketing imagery
  • Brand colours
  • Design style
  • Packaging
  • Illustrations
  • Photography style
  • Logos (where appropriate)

Providing strong visual references helps generated images remain consistent with your existing brand assets.

Best practices

For the highest quality results:

  • Keep each context document focused on a single topic.
  • Update documents whenever your products, messaging or policies change.
  • Use headings and lists to make information easy to scan.
  • Avoid duplicating information across multiple documents.
  • Upload high-quality brand reference images that accurately represent your visual identity.
  • Review your Vision & Goals and Brand Guide regularly to ensure Luna continues to align with your business strategy.
